Karin McCarthy, Executive Director
Karin joins the Chamber after working as the Vice President of Administration and Finance for Solutions Review and LeadSpark, Inc., a marketing services tech company, located in Marblehead and Woburn. In her role, Karin played a critical role in launching the business during the tech start-up heyday. She developed operational and administrative systems and policies that encouraged growth and creativity.
Karin has a strong background in economic development and workforce issues having also worked as the Director of Corporate Relations in the UMass President’s Office, the Deputy Director of the Massachusetts One Stop Career Center’s when they were initially launched as the next iteration of “employment” offices, as Program Director for Jobs for the Future and as the Director of the Employment and Training Choices Program at DET.
Community service is very important to Karin and she has and continues to serve on a number of Boards and volunteers with many local organizations. She is currently the Senior Warden at St. Michael’s Church in Marblehead and a member of the Vestry and the St. Michael’s Historic Church Foundation Board. She just completed a five-year tenure on the Headmaster’s Council at St. John’s Prep in Danvers. She is a current member of the Marblehead Garden Club Board of Directors and is past treasurer of Marblehead Youth Hockey. Karin volunteers at LifeBridge and has assisted with the Kids in Community Program at St. Stephen’s in Lynn and the Lynn Mobil Food Bank.
Karin has an MBA from Boston College and a BA from Colby College. She also has a certificate in Horticultural Maintenance from North Shore Community College. She is proficient in Dutch. In her free time, she loves to garden, read, walk or hike and spend time with her family.
Christine Neals, Office Manager
Christine Neals has been the Office / Communications & Marketing Manager at the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce since 2014. Any marketing or pr materials that come from the office were created by Christine!
Christine is a native of North Reading and a 2014 graduate of Salem State University, receiving her B.A. in Communications and Graphic Design.
Christine graduated Cum Laude and is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s official Honor Society at four-year Colleges and Universities.
Christine has been able to combine her passion for art and design with her knowledge in marketing and communications and apply it to her current position, making her an invaluable asset to the LACC Team.
“The LACC provides me with an opportunity to build relationships with many different business owners and learn about their businesses while challenging my creative design abilities,” says Christine. “The LACC is in constant motion with programs, events, and emails that there’s never a dull moment and always an opportunity to push my creative boundaries.”
Samantha McHugh, Membership & Events Coordinator
The LACC welcomes Samantha McHugh to the chamber as she continues to dedicate her time and energy to the people of Lynn, working and actively participating in the community through multiple nonprofits. With a degree in Human Services and Youth Work from the University of Massachusetts Boston 2010, she believes in lending a helping hand and establishing strong relationships.
Following her passion for planning events, Samantha spends her weekends executing weddings for Fireside Catering at premier locations on the North Shore. When she’s not working, you can find Samantha spending time with her husband Stephen and pup Peanut. She is an active hiker and enjoys cooking new recipes. She looks forward to connecting with everyone at the chamber events and hearing your ideas for the future!
