The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce daily operations are run by a three person office totaling over 35 years of Chamber experience.
Leslie Gould, President/CEO
Since 1997, Gould brings two decades of non-profit, CEO experience from both the Lynn Area and Marblehead Chambers of Commerce.
Gould, has a proven track record of building Chambers from its infancy to a professional, respected and relevant powerhouse in the community.
During her nine-year tenure at the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce, the membership grew from 200 to 420. Gould incorporated dozens of new programs, initiatives, and community events to unify the business and residential community. “The business and residential community need each other to survive,” says Gould. “When residents support local businesses, then businesses can give more to the hometown schools, religious institutions, non-profits, and charities. Business adds vibrancy and is the lifeblood of any community.”
Gould has been with the LACC since 2007, where again, the membership has doubled from 200 to 400. She describes the LACC Team as incredibly passionate about their jobs. Member events and initiatives are designed to empower, educate and enlighten business owners to be the best they can be.
“We’re an ideas factory and PR/Marketing machine. We thrive on creativity and producing substantive programs. We have an arsenal of success stories! The LACC is a highly professional and incredibly friendly business organization. Lynn embodies the spirit of hard-working families and individuals, where community giving is a way of life.”
“I always say- in Lynn, the heart goes out. It’s part of the Lynn culture. When you join the LACC everyone feels at home, everyone has a place at our events, it’s highly inclusive. After all these years I’m still in awe of how refreshing it is to interact and network with the membership! They’re serious about business and have fun at the same time!”
Gould says her job is to connect and unify people; to design events and programs that allow our members to see their business with new eyes and new potential for growth. “Our job is to invigorate and motivate business owners to raise their own bar, while the staff uses a variety of portals to promote their products and services locally and globally.”
Gould is a native of Swampscott and graduated Boston University, College of Communications with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism. She currently serves on two Governor appointed committees: the MA Commonwealth Corporation and the MA STEM Advisory Council and is a member of the Swampscott Rotary Club.
She received a certificate in non-profit organizational management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management. She is an award-winning cable television producer, was awarded a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow as a member of the Marblehead Rotary Club, served as Commissioner for the Essex National Heritage Area, served on the Board of Directors for the North of Boston Visitor and Convention Bureau and many other Town and City committees.
“The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce continually challenges me. The opportunities here are limitless and we are constantly growing with the needs of the members and community. I have found LACC members to be proactive on all fronts, serious about networking and promoting their business and community oriented. It’s an honor and pleasure to work with such a progressive and diverse business community.”
